365 Reasons to Smile – Day 304
I realized I’d been wallowing in anger and frustration when someone told me I needed to watch the movie Frozen again.
I immediately knew what she meant: “Let it go.”
She was right. I needed to.
I can’t control when people lie about my professionalism in order to make themselves feel better or justify their inability to achieve what they had hoped.
I may not be able to change the minds of people who want to believe the worst about me.
And I certainly can’t prove I didn’t utter words that someone else says I did.
But I can hold my head high. I can feel self-assured that I would never create drama – not my thing at all. And I can continue to treat people with respect even though I’m accused of rudeness.
In other words, I will never be able to control what other people say or believe about me. But I can control how I react to such behavior.
Even more importantly, I can forgive.
Forgiveness will always be more powerful than anger.
And knowing that will always make me smile.
