Sunday afternoon, a group of children and teens gathered in the recreation room at our church for game time. Some of the youth played pool while others played ping-pong. My daughter challenged two adolescent boys to checkers, and some younger girls played hangman with markers on the white board.
As I enjoyed a game of Jenga with a fifth grader, I realized that among the laughter and joy in the room, there were no electronic sounds.
And that really made me smile.

I was pregnant with my son, working full-time and completing my master’s degree when the movie In and Out was released. Needless to say, I didn’t have a lot of spare time, but my husband and I went to see it anyway.
And the time spent away from my studies was well worth it.
I still love the movie, and I particularly love the scene when Kevin Kline is trying to prove his masculinity.
That clip always makes me smile.
